Victory Baptist Church

Today

Victory is a small independent fundamental Baptist (IFB) congregation with an old country church atmosphere. It's relaxed and informal and members are welcoming and friendly. In Baptist tradition, fellowship involving food is frequent.

Services are traditional, with powerful, old-time Bible-based preaching and teaching. Most of our music is old traditional hymns sung by the congregation, and accompanied by piano and bass. A few of our members occasionally perform solos. In addition to the Sunday morning service, Victory still holds Sunday and Wednesday evening services.

Most members attend the Adult Sunday School in our fellowship hall, where coffee is allowed and interaction abundant. A few prefer the Seniors' Sunday School in the sanctuary. We have dedicated space for a youth group, as well as Sunday School rooms for children. However, our youth all grew up, most moving away, and we now have few children, so we don't have an AWANA program or Vacation Bible School. We do hold Children's Church as needed.

Victory has a heart for Faith Promise Missions, currently supporting forty-three missionaries with fifty dollars a month each. We've also provided rolls of paper for the Bible and Literature Missionary Foundation printing of KJV Bibles for missions.

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen. Matthew 28:19-20 (KJV), The Great Commission

Our local outreach is limited to visiting shut-ins. Fear of the virus made our door-knocking ministry unwelcome, even when we were wearing masks. Our "20/20 vision" of bus and addiction ministries in the year 2020 was blindsided by the pandemic. We no longer have a member with a Commercial Drivers License so we donated our church bus to a church that needed one. We still own a church van.

We conduct Baptism of the saved as requested and celebrate the Lord's Table (communion) when the pastor feels led. As in most Baptist churches, membership is approved by the congregation after profession of faith (baptism) or letter of transfer.
