Victory is a small independent fundamental Baptist (IFB) congregation with an old country church atmosphere. It's relaxed and informal and members are welcoming and friendly. In Baptist tradition, fellowship involving food is frequent. Click the Baptist flag to see an example.
Services are traditional, with powerful, old-time, Bible-based preaching and teaching. The congregation and an informal choir sing most of our music, accompanied by piano and bass. A few of our members make up The Naildrivers, our church bluegrass gospel group, while others occasionally perform praise and worship solos. In addition to the Sunday morning service, Victory holds Sunday and Wednesday evening services.
Many members attend the high-energy Adult Sunday School in our fellowship hall, where coffee is provided and interaction abundant. Some prefer the more relaxed Seniors' Sunday School in the sanctuary. We also have a small Youth Group with their own dedicated space, as well as Sunday School rooms for children, adjacent to the fellowship hall and our nursery.
Victory has a heart for Faith Promise Missions, currently supporting forty-three missionaries. We've also provided rolls of paper for the printing of KJV Bibles for missions.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen. Matthew 28:19-20 (KJV), The Great Commission
Our local outreach includes visitation of shut-ins, Saturday door-knocking/tract handout, and a recycled clothing ministry. Our 20/20 vision of bus and addiction ministries was postponed by the 2020 pandemic. On the internet, we have this web site and a number of Facebook pages created by different members. We also have accounts on Twitter and social media with a younger demographic, but we need some young people to manage them.
We conduct Baptism of the saved as requested and celebrate the Lord's Table (communion) when led to do so by the Holy Spirit. As in most Baptist churches, membership is voted on by the congregation after profession of faith (baptism) or letter of transfer.
